Brett took the role very seriously in the way that Daniel Day Lewis approached his work. It probably affected his health. Rathbone set the bar and is more believable temperament wise for that era. However, in more recent times ,if the character was indeed a time traveller I do believe he would reincarnate as the modern Sherlock that has recently graced the screens through Benedict C. A breath of fresh air for any Sherlockian.

I’m going to give an unpopular opinion but Johnny Lee Miller in Elementary will always have my heart.
