Can someone explain why an American tech company can’t replicate TikTok? Or make it even better and have ppl go there?

They can. But people keep saying that Insta and YouTube are the same thing. Which they aren't. No where near the same thing.

From what I've heard, the Chinese tech scene is extremely competitive. They've also spent years building (1) an Amazon competitor with TikTok Shop, (2) SMB ecommerce integrations, which only NBC is starting to focus on, and (3) using high creator payouts to foster a strong community of influencers, like a broadcaster would. It's a fundamentally different way of viewing social media, and it'll take real vision to match it stateside.

Because they’ve uploaded their entire selves onto the platform, replacing all other traditional media, its disappearance will determine the partial disappearance of many users’ identities. This is closely tied to the ideology of globalization.

They can. This is about eliminating the competition before launching the next Tech Bro solution. If you’ve been following @zuck and that guy who owns Twitter now, it’s pretty obvi to me they’ve bought the Tik Tok ban - so it’s just a matter of time.
