One of my favourite artists is Richard Thompson. The subjects of his song has changed, but his guitar style is completely recognisable and developed whether you’re listening to a track from 1969 or 2024.

I don’t know about ‘beloved’ but the wretched Paul Weller has been churning out the same meat and potatoes stodge for decades now.
