This man, my uncle, was a minister for 30+ years and loved his gay son. So much so that he regularly donated to charities that could offer his son, and others, support. He never treated him like he was "less than." He never excluded him from his life. If a man educated in faith can love and respect the LGBTQ+ community and show them ALL the love of Christ, certainly a regular person can too, by reading LGBTQ+ stories and accepting that not all literature is about straight people.
