Kwame Ture was Black First not Trinidadian first. Mr. Ture paid homage and showed respect to the people who made it possible for his parents and him to immigrate to America. Black Americans elevated Kwame Ture, not Trinidadians. He was nothing like a lot of Trinidadian immigrants and others from the diaspora who flee their homeland and come over to America just to eat off Black Americans plates but don’t want to contribute to the fight against white supremacy.
