A student in my class emailed me last night, apologizing profusely. He had been working a lot of overtime and just finished a 12 hour shift and wanted to know if he could have a day extension. He was really tired, and wanted to do well in our class. I wrote back. I said no to a one day extension. Instead, I gave him a 3 day extension. No late penalty. HigherEd can be flexible and accommodating.

10 小時內	Michelle chelle2172	Guess I’m the outlier. I do not accept late assignments. Students have a week to complete the assignment and turn it in so they are in control of when it gets done. That being said, if they message prior to the due date and have a legitimate excuse, I offer leeway but they may or may not get full credit. Depends on the excuse. I’ve seen too many students stay out partying and then miss the due date. They tell you they were sick but have no proof while videos of them partying exist 🤦🏻‍♀️

You’re bordering vent level of oxygen needs and the school emails telling you to leave ama cause your child can’t be missing the first days of school. Having police threatened if he wasn’t there the next day and to just leave so he doesn’t miss out. Ended up unable to even get off oxygen until the fifth and then came home the sixth. we homeschooled
