That is true!! Both have their own learning curve although constant is a bit easier for me I find flash gives me more but i always need someone to help me with it. Goal is to be able to use flash setup without any help at all

Well with both you have to vary the power or adjust the camera settings, it's not that different really. Set your flash, take a meter reading and set your aperture to match, take a test shot and adjust if needed. Your shutter speed is usually locked at the max sync speed with flash so that takes one variable away you needn't think about too.
