Real talk: How do you find followers who are customers/clients and not just fellow artists? Although, I love all of you, and love seeing your work, I'm struggling with how to reach the right audience? How do you guys do it? Tell me all your secrets, please. 😅🫶

Be super authentic. If you think people won’t get it, that’s what you should make or post about. I noticed a huge shift in my views and sales when I started doing what I wanted rather than what I thought would sell or what I thought people wanted to see.

I was asking the same thing yesterday. The conundrum is that follow mostly artists and potters because I love art… I am also a buter of art & pottery… I’m also an introvert so it’s hard to get out & do markets etc even if they are fulfilling. Art Threads

I just throw my stuff out there and see what happens. I mainly get commissions outside of social media, through word of mouth, but it takes a long time to build up. This is tough for people who need to sell their work to pay their bills. I work in a range of subjects and media. This reflects my interests but also allows for more commercial possibilities such as pet and people portraits.

The only people who follow other artists are artists 😅 NOT buyers in most cases. People do follow brands though, brands with products they like. If you start applying your artwork to items that add value (wooden bowl, cheese platter) and follow home decor accounts, you might be recommended to some of their customers. Also - PAY FOR ADS. Just boost the post. Even if it's only a $35.00 per month budget, it will get you some traction from non artist accounts to get the ball rolling

I have the same problem for the last two years. Some festivals are great some not so much. It seems like I had to make a lot of little expensive things to make profit. I use to have my stuff at a vintage market , where I rented wall space. It did fine there. Some of my friends went to “Painted Tree” to sell their art. Some are successful during the holidays. Seems like January through March people just don’t buy. I clearly don’t have an answer. Join your local art club.
