I’ll tell you what…we naively thought that our degrees (mom advanced academic and dad advanced scientist) would be a privilege to our son when he started school and the “academics” of our local school district wouldn’t matter. Turns out our degrees did not prepare us for a twice exceptional ASD/ADHD student who required an IEP and a much different environment than our school district can handle. Regardless of your education the journey is the journey of the child’s and you’re the cheer section.
