As a white, 56 year old British male, if my understanding of the word woke is correct (being aware of societal and political injustices) then I can safely say I am woke. In what kind of bitter world can woke used as an insult?!

Think of it more as a command from elder Black people to younger ones not to become complacent, that racism didn’t die with the election of Obama.
