Yes we have financial stress, thus we worked multiple jobs. In current era, they call it a slasher; it means one person with multiple skillsets. Im not sure who needs to hear this but I felt there are still hope in the job market. I’ve been called job hopper very long time, but yet there are companies who appreciate multiple skill sets. Yes, at some point we might not be relevant anymore, so we hunt for the next opportunity.

I felt for GenZ, perhaps because I was born last in the family, and many see us as “weak” “non-resilient”. I recently called out a millenial manager because she kept talking to my Gen Z colleague who used to report to me and transferred to her, as she kept saying “y’all GenZ is even worse lol, the boomer always complain bout millenials, wait till they see y’all GenZs”. It’s so immature. Im so glad we are in the era were people has the awareness of age doesn’t equates maturity.

And my soon to be ex-company hired many new corporate old f’s who are confined within their own corporate mindset that “i work in xxx hence im the best”, so I decided “let’s leave”; let them enjoy their glory because they will never let us shine. And God opened up a brand new journey for us; I really feel if the traditional job market doesn’t work out, perhaps it also meant you’re not meant for it; and that’s totally fine.

There is always a chance to meet a good recruiter, a good superior, a good team regardless if they come from traditional job market; as long as they kept a strong growth mindset, which is extremely rare these days when everyone thinks they know A LOT by consuming online contents not realising contents were purely algorithms played along only to what they want to believe. The world very much divided yet diverse but with GenZs or Gen Alpha, the traditional job market is about to change✨
