Use the Stan Keiffer method to prep the packfilm in a dark bag before you shoot it. You can feel the pods while you’re at it and it will be very obvious if it’s bad. I like to do this with every pack now and make a list of the bad/dried frames so I can either frame for a partial spread or just not bother to even try to capture anything if I know the frame is completely dry.
