Here's the thing. His performance only appealed to his fans because a) he was speaking words that, if you didn't know them, were barely intelligible and b) it was literally him with a backing track and a group of people walking around a stage. I've seen performances of bands that I didn't particularly care for and became a fan afterwards. Whether it was because of their energy, their musical talent, or just the spectacle of it, it drew me in. Maybe if I read his lyrics I'd be impressed.
