I read a post where a reader stated that if an indie author self-recs, they're off the TBR list, that it's pick me energy. I self rec, if it's appropriate, after I recommend others usually. If indie authors only recommend others, they'll never make enough to write another book. Every book published is an investment from our pockets: nobody pays our bills. I would love to see more authors recommend each other. But banning self-rec? Why slam it for being pick me energy? I just don't get it.

19 小時內	littlelolademon	There's nothing wrong with making yourself your work attractive to others. It is not pick me energy, that whole concept is just the silliest thing in the world. If someone is actively asking for recommendations....pimp yourself absolutely. It's human nature to want to be liked or have your talents liked and appreciated and anyone that pretends they don't want that is just pretending, we are a species of social creatures.
