Mothers, how do y’all feel about epidurals? What was your experience like and would you do it again? If not why?

I got it as soon as I was admitted. It didn’t help my pain too much and because my legs and back were numb I was in a panic as I couldn’t move :(

Would literally get an epidural every single day of my life over having to go through the first year with my baby who reused to sleep. The epidural was a breeze. I was super scared but the IV in my hand hurt far worse. My only "complication" was my BP dropped pretty low immediately after getting it but it bounced back with some epi. Definitely recommend it! My pain during birth was minimal and I was in labor for over two days.

Epidurals are a great tool for comfort if you aren't progressing fast enough vs the pain. Also consider that you won't be able to get out of bed and can drop blood pressure with an epidural. For my 1st I was induced and chose an epidural and my 2nd came so fast I didn't realize I was in labor until my water broke. I got to move and felt very in control bc I was so aware of the progression. Intense in the last 30 minutes! Did not need it.

I almost killed my husband before the epidural and took a nap after. So yeah…
