The best tip is to play to your weaknesses. If you have a hard time saving, have your direct dep put the money in an account you don't have online access to and can only drive to. Commit to your retirement accounts stats as much as you can comfortably even if it's only $20. You WILL find fun with what left, but if you take it all home you'll spend it all and have no drive to save with what's left. Trust me, this is how you do it! Forgetting you have money is the key if you like spending!

Also, remember....your company likely just gives you free money for contributing to 401k! you be leavin' money on the table if you aren't putting some in there. Also use high deductible heath plans. Your company will often give you over $1,000 just for the hsa, and if you don't spend it, you keep it. NEVER go for the FSA, that money is lost if you don't use it.
