1. Clarify the passage of time. Take note of where a scene ends & where the next begins. Ensure the time jump btwn scenes is clear to the reader by using transition language (ex: "The next day...") or by catching us up on what the character has been doing since we last saw them.

Make sure you call proper attention to them, signal their relationship to the other characters & highlight any distinguishing traits so they stick in the reader's head.
