I think yall forget that arcs aren't new. They've been used for far longer than booksta or booktok really popping off. The 10% return rate is normal, but it's not because readers are malicious or deliberately signing up for things they don't intend to read. I want you to think of the last time you tried to get 20+ adults into the same room. How many had life get in the way? And then with books you add in DNFs and withholding negative reviews. Which happens more bc of authors behaving badly
