Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde came to our sweet parish for Christmas one year. Here she is with my son, then 9 years old who played the drum on Gaudeté. She wrapped him up in her homily that day. Told him that his playing made her heart happy and asked to have pictures sent to her. She is the real deal. And it wasn’t the title of Bishop, it was her soul that made is so special. Protect her at all costs.
