I'll never forget what happened when MGMT dropped their 2nd album, Congratulations. Everyone expected another Oracular Spectacular, and it was so different. Contratulations lacked that dancing, new-agey irony of their first release. It sounded more sincere, introverted and dark - more mature, even - while still sounding quite psychedelic. At first I disliked it. Then I heard it again, and again, and a week later it was my favourite album of all times.
