I keep seeing these posts that end “they came here before immigration laws.” You know that would mean before 1790, right? There have always been immigration laws in this country. There have been many different quota systems, expulsions, restrictions, etc. This is bad history people are sharing that does nothing but pit immigrant against immigrant. Let’s not play that game.
