Many people have been mis-led into believing that a career in filmmaking - whichever role; producing, directing etc. and at any level, is a reliable and sustainable career. Two things I've learned from observing, questioning and listening to people in my industry and it's this: 1) you are not guaranteed a 'next project' and; 2) it is only a small fraction of people that are making decent money in it and the other folks are in massive debt Keep your day job. Finance your life separately.
