It's sad that I'm seeing SOOO many Threads asking for tips on how to knit and crochet faster. If you're late for a commission deadline that's fair enough, but I fear that the latest gen of crafters aren't focusing on the mindful aspect of these crafts. Handcrafts are supposed to be peaceful and slow. They're supposed to be a 🖕🏼 to fast fashion, right? Yarnthreads what's your take?

Crochet is my escape, I deliberately pick projects that are just hard enough to require focus, and my brain can get some rest. It’s all about mindfulness and relaxation, creating beautiful things, and switching off from the busyness of everyday life.

16 小時內	🐝 Cozy Bee•gurumi cozybeegurumi	I blame TikTok crocheters for making others feel like they have to match speed. I’m not about to crochet at record speed so that my project can come out looking like sloppy shit 🫣…..quality is sacrificed when they crochet so fast and it’s painfully noticeable.
