My mother would call me “Sparkle Plenty” (from Dick Tracy) when I was in a play or show. I still have the notes and cards she gave me for every performance from the time I was 8 until my last show in 1998. She had a debilitating stroke in 1997 so my dad had to write that last one for her. Having those written memories is wonderful, but I miss hearing her say them. And the hug that came with it.
