I’m just saying that if any discussion about mature content in YA doesn’t include the history of YA, the early 2010s collapse of NA as a marketing category in trad publishing, and the subsequent result of YA basically absorbing NA and readers calling any fast-paced, character-driven, femme-written book “YA” even if it has grown-ass, fully adult characters, then there’s a massive context collapse there. Like, these are all connected issues.
