I have a Vietnamese student staying with me this school year. It's Lunar New Year, but I knew I couldn't really replicate many (any?) traditions for her. I asked! The Vietnamese family down the street is having a BIG party. I hadn't introduced her yet because I don't know them well. But, by golly, I marched myself over there tonight and ask if she could join in. They were SO excited. I came home to tell my student, and SHE was so excited! I just took her over, and she LIT UP. 😭 Yay!

In Vietnam it is still the 2nd of the Lunar New Year (the holiday usually extends to the 6th when we get back to work, but celebrations usually wont end until the 10th).
