Brussels. Today I met a stranger for a coffee. I asked her if she had met any inspiring people in the city. She said, “A guy called Dederick. He lives near me. We met because he asked if I could walk him to his shop. He’s so old he can barely walk. He stands outside his house at 1pm every day hoping somebody kind will help walk him to his shop. He said he stands there for hours sometimes, but somebody always comes. He’s the happiest person I know, yet he has so many hardships. He inspires me.”
