The first time I saw the first Thor film when it came out in the cinema, the scene where he finds out from Odin that he was Laufey's son, my whole hröa and fëa was just saying, "That's Maeglin". The level of anguish and despair and hopelessness that Hiddleston portrayed in that scene was incredible, and all I could see was Lómion stood amongst the fires of Gondolin, Idril pushing him towards the ledge with her sword, realising how horribly wrong he'd got everything, and how it was all too late
