I hate to have to give this advice, but please put together a “papers package” that includes a copy of: - Driver’s License - Passport (get one if you don’t have one) - Birth Certificate, if Natural Born - Naturalization Certificate, if Naturalized And carry it with you at all times. And if you have children, do it for them. Everyone should do this, but if you are brown, speak with an accent, or regularly speak foreign language in public, it is doubly important.
