I didn’t grow up really hearing my people saying we are African Americans… All I was told was that I was Black, my grandma always said that she was a Geechee girl and of course indigenous American and also white. At one of my family reunions as a child, I was introduced to some white cousins. Then I see other Black Americans who are asking “we don’t call ourselves African American anymore?”, but I don’t remember hearing any of my family call themselves that. Gullah Geechee have arguments😩😂 1/2
