They're going to see just how far they can spread the "Jesus loves you more when you're suffering" message and how many people will fall for it. This period of time we're entering is completely manmade by the worst elements of humanity. Don't let them tell you God did this, wants this for us, or it's part of becoming better people. If your church tries to feed you that line, you need to walk out and never return.
