Let’s calculate Add healthcare and education costs to the taxes

We have free medical care and paid vacations, around 22/25 days a year

Those taxes also give us a couple of weeks PAID leave!

We don’t pay crazy taxes in Ireland, I get 5 weeks paid vacation and flights to other countries in Europe are affordable.

We don’t have to pay for health care, schools and 28 days paid time off.

5 weeks of paid vacation, no student loans with ridiculous interest rates and we don’t have to file for bankruptcy when going to a dentist.

We already pay crazy taxes in the US and don’t get jack 💩. Our taxes are actually more similar than most people think. Except in the European countries they mostly go to good use.

we believe in the system and get value for our taxes (healthcare, education, paternity leave, equality) this creates security to invest in for example travelling. also distances are shorter, cheap flight plenty and we dont feel the urge to stay ar luxury resorts or Hiltons. that said, far from all europeans travel, only the rich ones can afford it also here.

American Expat here. I have to pay Taxes on my income in the UK and in the US. I get a credit for my UK taxes then have to pay the balance of my federal taxes, plus my state taxes. Imagine paying that much more in taxes and then having to also buy health insurance. That’s why the rest of the world can afford to travel- they pay less taxes and aren’t buying health insurance too
