In Brazilian army, the minimum fitness level for an officer at 22 is 29 push ups, 48 sit ups, 2.85 km in 12 minutes and 8 pull ups. Their minimum sounds completely reasonable for a civilian standard. Plus, if the same dude can do 50 push ups but only do 50 squats, he has probably skipped leg day more than a few times

every time i read numbers like that i'm always curious to see the execution of the writer. Few people in the world can do 20 push-ups done correctly, if you can do 10 pull-ups without using momentum, with your chin above the bar and relaxing your muscles each time then you are a dragon. Easy to do high numbers when you do lousy executions.
