The yearning for nostalgic ways to be with art — many of us are in deep need for a reconnection to analog, to tangibility, to ritual, to the organic, to imperfection. Vinyl for instance; you get all of that. Being with a vinyl record engages four of our senses — you’re forced to feel the record, the sleeve, smell the vinyl, look at the cover, the textured grooves and listen to its warm, flawed sound. Then there is the ritual of placing the record. It demands the presence we’re yearning for.
