Take a peek into one of my cognitive biases from my social conditioning: When you say “I’m an empath!” I hear “I’m an abuser in a clown suit!” I’m working on shifting this bias, listening to self-identifying empaths who actually practice what they purport to be, is a salve on my heart. But I’d be a liar if I didn’t admit it’s hard every time someone on here claims empathy, and shows none, I see my bias calcifying further.
