AOTY is determined by peer voting, not pure sales or streams, if they were awarding solely off that Billie takes the cake for AOTY. Cultural impact plays a role as well as recording academy voting. Unfortunately the Grammys don’t base awards purely on sales, streams, or chart performance.. that’s weird.. 🙃 you would think that would be 80% of the voting..
