I published my books on a shoestring budget, starting with $20 covers and (after three books) a few dollars a day in ads that I slowly scaled… all while working multiple jobs and raising a small child alone. Those books were supporting me within a year. Yes, it’s easier to start a business when you have cash to invest. But indie publishing is a business that we can start from zero and grow quickly, and I am so grateful for that.
