I read posts about daughters with mothers that don't root for them and are sometimes outright jealous. I get it. I grew up similar. It's weird to realize your mother actually wants you to fail. It's not hard for me to want the best for my son. As a parent, I actually hope he does better than me and is happier than me. In fact, I couldn't be a cycle breaker if that weren't the case. I would be triggered by seeing his happy childhood and wish to tone it down. 1/2
