Genuine curiosity: How is Japan’s involvement in WWII taught in school? Especially the atrocities committed by their military? I was in a language meetup and there was a half Mexican, Half Japanese guy talking to a Japanese woman in her early 20s. I heard them talking about colonialism and the woman said “colonialism is good because they can teach other cultures” and the guy was shocked and trying to explain how colonialism played out in the past. She has a good command of English 1/2
