Also known as the "Gateway to Hell," the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia is one of the hottest places on Earth, with year-round temperatures averaging 34–35°C (93–95°F) and often exceeding 50°C (122°F) in summer. On my 3-day expedition, I explored active volcanoes, lava lake, sulfur springs, vast salt lakes, and otherworldly landscapes.
