I do not have a relationship with my dad. Never will. It was a mostly terrible and devastating experience being his daughter. My whole life I heard variations of “but he’s your dad and I’m sure he’s doing the best he can!” But very few people ever asked me why. And what I’d like to say with my full chest is Do you know how bad it has to be for someone’s child to go fully no contact? To not have any more love in their heart for the person who helped create them? ⬇️
