When I was in the 8th grade Mrs. Earhart, my Louisiana History teacher, spent a few weeks teaching us about Louisiana architecture—from simple Acadian cottages to the elegant plantation homes (along with the atrocities that surrounded them). Though I’m not an architect today, that was easily one of the most memorable topics of my K-12 education….just something that was on my mind.
