I was misdiagnosed for YEARS. Put on medication that will affect me for the rest of my life (Lithium). Hospitalized multiple times for SI because I had no idea that I was neurodivergent, NOT bipolar. Giving my DISORDER a name allows me to move forward with my life. Because to me, it is a disorder. I struggle with basic daily functions, not at all to do with what society expects of me. I am not a low support needs person. And the internalized ableism in the other thread is making me sick.
