Teacherthreads Something positive about education—I’ve supervised around two dozen student teachers in five school districts and about a dozen schools in the last six years. These college students have been and are bright, energetic, inquisitive, and enthusiastic. They know and love their subject (it’s ELA so how could they not) and their students. They’re also grounded and balanced and know what they’re getting into. In spite of politicians, I’m hopeful about the future of public education
