When I worked at McDonald’s in 1994-1995, anyone in the dining room had their food usually by the time the order was finished, even during the lunch rush. That’s with a packed drive thru. I’m at McDonald’s now, 7 people in the dining room, and waiting 10 minutes and counting for a super basic order. What the hell is going on? Fast food isn’t fast anymore. And this isn’t unique to McDonald’s. Thoughts? fastfood

14 小時內	s j necrojoe	In the 90s, how many sandwiches were pre-made, wrapped, and waiting under the headlamps, especially specifically during the lunch rush? Nowadays that doesn't fly. Individual ingredients are prepped, but the sandwiches aren't pre assembled like they were when we worked fast food back then. Source: worked at BK in the mid 90s. Payroll is also a fraction, so fewer people working per shift.

So you might have a short seeming line but the reality is the 7 people you see is only a quarter of the orders they’re dealing with.
