It appears that the main objective was never freeing hostages, or defeating Hamas. According to IDF reports, Netanyahu knew about the planned Hamas attack on Oct 7. He deliberately abstained from preventing it — sacrificing 1,450 Israelis for a justification to forcibly depopulate Gaza. Most of us supported Israel’s right to security within its borders, and the world rightly condemned the Hamas attack. But the scale of human rights violations against the Palestinian people is inexcusable.
