If the characters you want to win don’t know what to do, and you want to avoid doing something too forced (like out of nowhere, THEY ALREADY KNOW WHAT TO DO), they have to take advantage of the mistakes that the powerful one is going to make, the “Powerful” is not “Perfect” or “Infallible”, he is going to make some mistake.
