Bride Story No. 1
The phone rang at 3:17 AM. "Who calls a bridal shop at this hour?" I thought, groggy but alert. A shaky voice spilled through the receiver— “Please, I have no one else to turn to.”
Her name was Carla. A bride from Pampanga, two days from her wedding, trapped in a nightmare. The local designer’s gown arrived crumpled, “like a potato sack,” she choked out. Ill-fitting, crooked seams, lace that looked “chewed by rats.” Her mother wept when she tried it on. (1/5)
