Four months after writing the post below, I finally landed a job that puts all my little skills to use. By then, it had been a year and nine months since I moved to Canada. I started writing on my blog while preparing to leave my career as an engineer, which led to work as a travel writer and helped build my portfolio. In the meantime, I worked admin jobs at a language school and then a bigger college, then moved into marketing at another college, picking up skills along the way. >>>
