In my 10 years in Australia, I picked up the habit of adding “Please” to “Yes” and “Thank You” to “No", because that’s how Aussies commonly speak. They always say “Yes, Please” and “No, Thank You” which makes their responses sound polite.
But when I went back to the Philippines, I realized that this isn’t as common. People usually just say “No” without “Thank You” and “Yes” without “Please.” It sounds a bit rude, even if that's not the intension.
